  1. This looks like a New Year’s Day visit to a shrine with street food stalls. The little girl must be wearing Kimono under a Western top because she is wearing zori footwears. Her hair style also suggests that she is wearing kimono. But it’s not a “traditional formal Kyoto hair style” you used to see at Shichigosan ceremony but slightly more casual with interesting hair decoration. So her hair must have been done at home. I wonder if the lady who is holding her is her mother or aunt as she appears in other photos with another woman who looks similar to her.

      屋台のある神社での初詣のようですね。女の子は草履を履いているので、洋風の上着の下に着物を着ているのでしょう。また、髪型も和服ように見えます。しかし、七五三の時のような「京都の伝統的、フォーマルな髪型」ではなく、もう少しカジュアルな髪型で、興味深い髪飾りをしています。ということは、彼女の髪は家で結ったのでしょう。抱っこしている女性は、彼女のお母さんかおばさんでしょうか?他の写真で、彼女によく似た方が別の女性と一緒に写っています。
