  1. We received a comment from a student at Tsukuba University:

    It says at the bottom,“Hara Photo Studio, Kamimoto-dori (street) Numazu-shi (city)” The person on the left is wearing a military uniform. It appears to be that of an Army officer.

    The woman on the right may be his mother, judging from her age.

    下部に「原写真館 沼津市上元通り」と書かれています。男性が来ている服は、陸軍将校のものと思われます。

    右側の女性は、年齢からして、彼の母親かもしれません。

    This photo seems to have been taken at the Hara Photo Studio in Numazu City, which operated during a brief period before and after the war. Thank you, Meiji Archives, for your cooperation.

  3. We received a comment on our FB page that says that the writing on the paper frame says:
    Hara Photography Studio, Kamihon Dori (St), Numazu City. The studio is apparently no longer there.
