   This costume looks like the ones worn by women in Ohara in northern Kyoto. The girl must have been participating in the Ohara-me festival there. Women of Ohara used to come to the city to sell their vegetable in Kyoto.

     この衣装は、京都の北部にある大原の女性が着ていたものに似ている。大原女祭りに参加していたのでしょう。大原の女性たちは、野菜を売るために京都に出てきていました。
