This envelope is addressed to MORIYAMA, Akira (can be also read as Hirkari, Mitsuru, Rei, Hikaru, Kou, or Mitsu). The characters for the envelope are unknown. The red printing on the envelope reads, “Communication Affairs” at the top and “Post Office” at the bottom, and “Enclosed Savings (Bank) Book” with the character for 1 in handwriting on the left. There is a postal stamp from Yusuhara in Kochi dated 18.9.9 – probably Showa 18 (1943) September 9th.

  1. We received a comment from a student at Tsukuba University:
This appears to be an envelope addressed to Mitsuru (?) Moriyama, sent from the post office. It seems that there was one savings passbook inside the envelope.

    筑波大学の学生さんからコメントをいただきました:
    森山光さんへ郵便局らから送られた封筒で、貯金通帳が一冊在中されていたようです。
